Hey Everyone,
As I am a huge bowling fan, it was great to be invited down to Hollywood Bowl @ Teesside Park in Stockton to have a couple of games and eat some great food with my family.
I’ve not been since the refurb as Hollywood Bowl have recently re-branded all of their bowling alleys to make them more on trend and have the style of ‘boutique bowling’. I loved the décor and the American theme, it had a great atmosphere and I couldn’t wait to get bowling!
Once we arrived, it was really easy to book in. As a fashion blogger I love the fact that you no longer have to wear the ugly bowling shoes that always ruin your outfit and as long as you have flat shoes on you can play in your own footwear, so of course, I took my Adidas trainers with me!
We were lucky enough to be playing in the VIP section of Hollywood Bowl, which was a new element since the refurb. We were also treated to a bottle of prosecco on arrival, which is always going to be a winner in my eyes. The VIP section has touchscreen displays making setting up the game a lot easier. They also feature VIP ropes, red velvet curtains and VIP walls making playing a lot more private.
There’s something wonderfully social about bowling, however, bad you are. Needless to say, I’m still rubbish but at least I actually managed a strike.
Once we finished our game of bowling, we were lead through to our table in the restaurant area. We sat in a cozy booth and given time to read the menu. I really wasn’t sure what would be on the menu but there were so many great options and after a lot of deliberating, I decided to share a Harrys Combo made up of spicy chicken wings, sweet potatoes, mozzarella dippers and more! Then for the main I opted for a Sloppy Joe's beef burger. You couldn’t fault the food, we were all definitely in a food coma by the time we’d finished our mains.
Of course, you can’t come to bowling without going on the amusements, this was another chance for my family to show its very competitive side! We had a number of games of pool, followed by an intense game of air hockey and not forgetting an extreme game of basketball!
Disclaimer: I was invited to review Hollywood Bowl and so did not pay for the meal or bowling. I would happily return and pay full whack, as it really is bloody brilliant and is the perfect place to unwind after work.
