If you didn’t know already, I’m studying away from my hometown, in Preston for my Fashion Degree at UCLAN. Recently a new restaurant opened in Preston and there has been so much hype around it. I wasn’t sure if it was over hyped like Nandos, so I thought I’d go down and see what all the fuss was about. The restaurant is called Turtle Bay and it’s a specialises in Caribbean cuisine and cocktails served in contemporary bar-restaurant, its loud, proud and very authentic, Bob Marley can be found everywhere, it’s a very soulful place with good vibes.
I decided to go with a ‘cool’ casual outfit as I was going to the restaurant during the day so I didn’t want to go over dressed. I wore a jumpsuit that Quiz Clothing sent me a few months back as part of a collaboration. I styled it up a little differently this time by wearing a white fluffy roll neck jumper over it which made the jumpsuit look like a pair of trousers and was super comfy! I wore flats as Preston has a lot of cobbles and I’m not great at walking in heels at the best of times!

Turtle Bay's atmosphere takes you away from Preston and into a tropical beach hut paradise with its relaxing lighting and reggae music. So many photo opportunities due to its quirky interior, as you can imagine I was snap happy. Even on a Sunday it had a lively welcoming atmosphere, great place to just go and chill and have a casual drink.
So the truth is I’m not the biggest fan of spicy food, I’ve got the biggest baby mouth, so maybe Caribbean food wasn’t the best idea, but the food was amazing even if my mouth was on fire. I opted for the Jerk glazed chicken wrap which included baby gem, carrots, cucumber, onion, coconut shavings, heb mayo, Caribbean slaw. The meal also came with sweet potato fries which even though they were spicy as hell, they were delicious!
Turtle bay is also known for their cocktails and range of drinks, as I was driving I went for the mococktial which was a watermelon slush which I could drink everyday for the rest of my life as it was lush. Unfortunately I was in a food coma by the end of the meal so I didn’t have pudding but I’m looking forward to going back and trying out ALL of the alcoholic cocktails and giving the pudding menu a try!
